The Media/Democracy Lab is an interdisciplinary research group in the Department of Communication at the University of Illinois Chicago. Our work centers on understanding and strengthening civil discourse and the relationship between media, civic engagement, and society, guided by a commitment to both academic excellence and positive social impact. We deploy human-centered design methodology to design and implement tools, methods, and practices for constructive civic engagement.
